Date: Activities can be carry out during the whole year with previous appointment
Duration: Activities can have a duration of 1H30 | 3H00 | 5H00
Costs: Activities will have a cost considering their duration and depending on the number of groups:
For individual groups with isolated activities, the cost per student is proportional to the duration of the activity, respectively: 3,00€ | 5,00€ | 7,00€
For reserves with over 5 groups activities the cost per stutend is proportional to the duration of the activity, respectively: 2,00€ | 3,00€ | 5,00€
Transport: Quinta Ecológica da Moita team can assure transposrt reservation for groups adapting the values to each situation

Short summary of the activity: To develope the ecologic awareness of children based on the valorization fo the pedagogical horticulture gardens; to explore curricular contents throught experimental activities in biological and dinamic agriculture; to valorize horticulture gardens spaces such as "alive laboratory"; to promote healthy life-styles; to recognize the advanteges of adopting biological techniques, such as more beneficial methods for the environment and humans health. Grow your own legumes, aromatic herbs and edible flowers with the company of your family and friends of the horticulture gardens, surrounded by an inspiring landscape and benefiting the training and accompaniment in Biological and Biodinamic Agriculture.

Path in the Forest
Subject area / Contents: Native and exotic flora; fauna; glade; ecology
Short summary of the activity: Circular pedestrian walking in QEM's Forest, passing by puddles, pedagogical horticulture gardens, glade and pedagogical apiary, observating fauna and flora, according with each season. With this activity we expect to support curricular activities in an outdoor context and to help students to know native and exotic flora; to know the importance of the native flora; to identify daily use of vegetal species; to identify present fauna evidences; to develop senses plays; to erase and control exotic invader species; to develop investigation projects.

Breve descrição da atividade: Percurso pedestre circular de baixa dificuldade efectuado na Mata da Quinta Ecológica da Moita com passagem pelos charcos, horta pedagógica, floresta e apiário pedagógico com observação da fauna e flora, de acordo com a época do ano. Com esta atividade pretende-se apoiar atividades curriculares em contexto fora de portas e ajudar os alunos a conhecer a flora autóctone e exótica e a fauna autóctone; conhecer a importância da floresta autóctone; identificar utilizações no quotidiano para as espécies vegetais observadas; identificar indícios da fauna presente; executar jogos sensoriais; erradicar e controlar espécies exóticas invasoras; desenvolver projetos de investigação.
Discovering the Forest as an Art

Shor summary of the activity: This offer propose an activity programme that includes a visit to the Forest, the collection of natural elements and a creative recycling office about glade and water subjects (rivers, rivershores and puddles), with recyling tools from Quinta.
Quinta goes to School

Short summary of the activity: The project «Creative Recyling Office» integrated in “A Quinta vai à Escola” will be compound for five activities proposal for children from first level of education and kindergarden. Activities will have a Power Point introduction for a small presentation of QEM, a theorical frame about office subjects and an explanation of the methods and techniques. For these activities tools will be used, mostly from nature or transformed.
There's life in the Water
Subject area / Contents: Hydrological resources; biology; ecology; water quality bioindicators; freshwater species; recuperation of water lines
Short summary of the activity: Walking by QEM's water lines and puddles; scientific, playful and sensorial activities; we expect to make aware and implicate the groups to adopt a peace of river or riverside or a puddle through observation, maintenance and investigation of the water lines. Taking part of this project, we hope to arise experimental and scientific curiosity and study ecological, social, cultural and environmental aspects, contribuying to improve the adopted space.
Knowing bees and other pollinator insects
Subject area / Contents: Pollinator insects; pollination; glade; naturaliste apiculture; preservation of the biodiversity; ecology
Short summary of the activity: Inside session about biology and ecology of honey bees as social insects, their ecologic and economic importance, menaces and strategies for the preservation of pollinator insects; equipments used in apiculture. Path in the apple horticulture garden, horticulture garden and forest to know the honey flora. Visit to Pedagogical Apiary with protection. Honey check. Game about life in the hive. With this activity they will lear to: know the life cycle and the organisation of the bees as social insects and their economic and ecologic importance in pollination and the survival on the Earth: know the menaces, importance of the pollinator insects perservation and strategies at home, horticulture garden and in agriculture in order to help. Try to be an apiarist through the visit to Pedagogical Apiary with protection an apiarist tools; know the honey flora that works as food to pollinators; stimulate the cooperative behavor using the honey bees as an example.
Volunteering
Needs to support the project
QEM, in its developing process due to its dimension of the glade area and the already existing infrastructures, calls for the support fo the volunteers that like to recover the nature and the build heritage. Volunteers can sign up in one or more teams, being that the ideal would be that volunteers constitue teams with friends, colleagues or familiars.

Running of the volunteer work
QEM has a volunteer programme that develops according to two main fields: recuperation of the nature and the build heritage. Volunteers action spreads in colaboration in pedagogical horticulture garden maintenance and logistic/pedagogical support in activities.
Weekly schedule for volunteering is:
Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 17:00.
The volunteer choose the schedule that want's to do, as well as the quantity of time that can gives. In case of colaboration, one morning or a part of the morning and the rest of the afternoon, QEM assures the lunch of the volunteers.
It is included an insurance for each volunteer.
To improve the functioning in the first times in which the volunteers come, they have to advise at least 24 hours before.
It is included using tools training.
We are also open to enterprises, institutions and organizations requestings that want to develope volunteer actions with theirs collaborators.

We let our infrastructures and our forest, park snack, instructores to coordinate the activities. We can organise everything or you can only request one space. For that you just only have to contact us to know what are the conditions to carry out the parties and events in our farm.
